Great idea.
Just imagine reeling in a 2-3LB tiddler rainbow and the rod suddenly doubles over! It'd add another realistic dimension to an already great game!
Very Happy

I'm not going to vote, but I thought I'd add my two cents. I don't have a problem with adding pike if they are done well, but if not if they're just going to get thrown into the mix with more or less the same behavior as a trout. If JR and Walter are forced to focus on certain areas I'd rather see them focus on things currently in the game that could be improved than to try to do too many things and none of them well. However, if they've got the time and resources to do it right, then I'm all for it.

Why not carp, too?
Yes - I am kidding.
A great deal of the appeal of FlySim is its trueness to reality. Pike have significantly differing habitat demands than salmonids and simply do not occur in such waters as found in FlySim.
Why not checkout Bait-ChuckerSim instead.

my two cents,

Flysim 2 may well feature different kinds of waters than Flysim 1 and I know a fair number of people who fly fish for them. Yes, pike tend to wipe out trout populations when they're introduced to new environments but there also places where pike and trout co-exist as well (parts of Eastern Canada come to mind). The reality is that people fly fish for all kinds of species fish species. The game leaves plenty of room for improvement when it comes to depicting reality so there's no reason to get nasty when someone makes a suggestion that doesn't fit in with whatever you think the game should be.

Yeah, there and most of England. We have tons of big trout waters wth 30lb pike in.

Perhaps JR and Walter could create a Flysim3 in the future with Pike, Muskie, Striped Bass, Walleye, etc in it? (Not a joke,...I'm serious) Wink
I wouldn't like Flysim2 having these fish in it. (Just my opinion) Wink

I really hope that you can fix the slack line issue in this game. The game is really fun, and my kids have enjoyed learning about flyfishing, but everytime we hook a big fish, it runs right at us and we lose it. I've been a flyfisherman for over 25 years, and I have lost very few fish in this manner. I've had countless leader breaks, or fish throwing the fly on a jump, but I've always been able to strip line fast enough to deal with a run back towards me. Anyway, that has kind of killed the game for my family, as we can't ever land a big one.
