I have downloaded and saved it and would like to try it BUT:

(1) If I install version 1.6 will my fishing log and settings on version 1.53 be saved and transferred? I worked hard to meet all the goals and get all my rivers unlocked and I can't afford to put in that time again soon.

(2) As a Windows 95 and XP sufferer I have learned to be cautious about installing upgrades of any program. If I don't like Version 1.6 for any reason, can I revert to 1.53 and not lose my trophy history and settings or will I have to start all over again with achieving goals?

Don't uninstall your old version (just install the new one ) and you should be fine. You could make copies of these files to be really safe:

C:\Program Files\FlySim\Data\fishlog.dat
C:\Program Files\FlySim\Data\config.dat

Did'nt work! When I installed it over my full verion The game reverted back to demo state and I had to reinstall the old game again.

I even tried to just install the "Locations" folder on the full game. That totally messed things up Mad

I have the new version downloaded and saved in a folder.
I'm waiting for someone to try this over the old version to
make sure it works. I'm wintering in Arizona and don't have
all my "stuff" in this computer for Flysim,..it's home in Oregon.

Have you tried this yet?
BTW, after I downloaded the last version, (1.53),
it's EXTREMELY hard to to get the fish to
strike,...didn't have any problems in the first couple
versions? 40 casts or more, (with the correct fly pattern),
and no rises,...even smaller fish?

That's why I haven't been playing Flysim much, it's very
difficult now to get the fish to strike?

Update, I couldn't wait to try out JR's new river.
I loaded it over version 1.53, and everything is
working fine. I have the full version of
1.60. my rivers aren't locked and the fish
seem to be striking more often.

I'll do some fly fishing now and see if
there's any problems, but so far,
the download looks like a winner. Very Happy

Some big fish in this river!! I have had a brown 62.7 and a rainbow 44.10 pounds any one got anything bigger?
